Dear Parents,

First of all I would like to thank you for your support during this unexpected invasion of Covid-19.

As you know, the department of education has declared holidays from the 5th of October, the administration of ourschool has decided to follow the same procedure. Our first priority is the safety of our students and our employees. Be assured that we are working diligently on theplans of restarting school. Our desire is to reopen the school on the 2nd of November. The offices will be open from 26th of October.

We have already covered three weeks of studies from the14th of September to the 2nd of October. We have a plan to continue the term from the 2nd of November to the 23rd of December,to cover up the rest of the lessons.  Kindly note that the online classes will be conducted only for the exam classes from the 12th of October to the 29th of October. School calendar of this term will be posted on class WhatsApp groups.

If this pandemic situation continues, we have planned to start virtual teaching throughonline for all students from Pre-Kindergarten to the A/L. The schedule for the classes and the information regarding the Zoom classes will be shared with you on WhatsApp class groups by the last week of October.

I encourage our parents to follow the school media visiting our website frequently, to be updated and to get accurate information.

Thank you.

Sincerely yours,

A warm welcome to the Adventist International School, Negombo!

Located in this beautiful coastal city, the school is a part of the global Seventh- day Adventist system of education which includes over 8,500 schools, colleges, and universities around the world.

The motto, “Wisdom for now and Eternity” clearly indicates the mission of the school. We have dedicated faculty and staff who train students and mould them to be self-confident, and efficient, so that when they enter the world after their studies, they would face various challenges with courage determination and success.

Our main aim is clearly stated by Mrs. E.G. White, “True education means more than the pursuit of a certain course of study. It means more than a preparation for the life that now is. It has to do with the whole being and with the whole period of existence possible to man. It is the harmonious development of the physical, the mental, and the spiritual powers. It prepares the student for the joy of service in this world and for the higher joy of wider service in the world to come.” Education,p.13.

Our main focus is that children grow and develop mentally, physically, socially and spiritually. We believe that each child is unique and has potential. We have high expectations for the students and we thrive to help our children grow into achieving these goals and the objectives. At AIS students study in a friendly environment, hence I believe this is the right place for your child to learn and grow to work in unity, sharing God’s love. Thus at AIS we prepare students to be worthy citizens of this world and the world to come.

Visit our website to get a clearer understanding of the academic programs and the other activities of the school. Place your trust in us and we will harbour you safely to reach the set goals.

Thank you!
